Hello,

Imagine a newspaper section where a brand’s success can be measured by its good deeds, wouldn’t a brand want to do more good deeds? …And if a reader of the section can see how much good they create by reading the section, wouldn’t the reader read the section severally to create more good?

sdgSUPPORTERS is a people first section of Friday Nation and Standard offline newspapers. The section, being compiled by WPP-Scangroup Kenya, creates a direct economic link between consumers, brands, and social good deeds. Like a typical newspaper section, sdgSUPPORTERS informs readers and connect buyers and sellers. But what sets it apart is that each edition of the section informs about another village or school that has already received water, toilets and reusable sanitary towels. When scanned with phone cameras, adverts in the section play on the phone screens messages about schools / villages that will also receive water, toilets and towels –– click to see the brand, Nairobi Waldorf School, that is on photo above.

To do good as a reader of the section:

– Click to Post a Cause tonominates a school or village for sdgSUPPORTERS Project. Title of your post shall be “sdgSUPPORTERS – (name of the school or village). At end of Post a Cause is a provision for you to widely share your post for transparency and accountability.

– On your phone, click GooglePlay or AppStore to install free PizzzAR to be able to see on your phone screen 7 video replies to your nomination when you scan with your phone camera adverts in sdgSUPPORTERS –– click to see how replies play on phone screens.

– By sms or WhatsApp (+254704415723), claim what you nominated for, on the day when your 7th reply is conveyed, to make RaHa bring to the nominee what you nominated for.

– Soon after your nominee gets what you nominated for, you get a domestic rainwater harvesting tank/barrel/butt for your home. You get this once, even though you may nominate several schools/villages in separate posts.

Hello!

People are water starved and schools don’t have toilets. As a result girls have to drop out of school as soon as they start menstruating. This is so unfair. Lack of toilets, water, sanitary towels, and just being born a girl, are enough to keep families locked in poverty for generations.

Do you have a special rainwater harvesting system?

Send a picture (and its location, its capacity, number of people it serves and length of time it serves per year) along with your name, to raha@raha.solutions, and it could ‘star’ in SDGSUPPORTERS, a supplement of the two leading newspapers in Kenya.

SDGSUPPORTERS, this has been a simply remarkable year.

With your support and advocacy, we’ve moved SDG support forward in real, tangible ways. We trained and engaged campaign managers. We advanced stunning campaigns. And we’ve set the groundwork for 2019 to be a powerful year for SDGSUPPORTERS.

None of this would be possible without your help. Your participation is the fuel that drives our work forward — and we want to take a moment to thank you.

SDGSUPPORTERS, even though I’m worried about the future of the underserved — and I’m sure you are too — I’m also optimistic for what the future will bring… provided we stand up for what we believe in.

Mean-spirited and greedy actions have motivated millions — literally millions — of us to speak out like never before. And the biggest lesson I’m taking from the last 4 weeks of unprecedented team work is that the power you and I have to make a difference is real, and here to stay.

So even though at times the political climate looks bleak, I believe we’re on the cusp of another great wave of reform. And you are a critical part of it.

Sarah-Jane Brownlie, the team at RaHaSolutions

SDGSUPPORTERS,

If you’re as upset as I am about the ‘underserved’ — I want to tell you about a game-changing solution: SDGSUPPORTERS.

Here’s how it works: SDGSUPPORTERS is a supplement in leading daily newspapers. It invites readers to nominate communities or schools for water, sanitations and hygiene services. You enable publishing of the supplement by placing your ads in it –– while nominating, readers must mention the ads, without which they (readers) would not see the invite.

This simple idea makes advertising less expensive. It also makes the services more accessible by the underserved. It’s a much-needed improvement over our cumbersome, outdated processes of availing the services. Plus, it’d significantly decrease the number of the underserved — the nominees get the services at a rate of one nominee per week.

Now, I need your help to keep this momentum going. Make advertising in SDGSUPPORTERS a top priority in the coming months.

With this critical support, you will make sure every underserved person gets water, sanitation and hygiene services. Please step up to fuel this fight today.

Thank you for your immediate response,

Sara-Jane Brownlie, the team at RaHaSolutions
